In 2004, Ahmed earned his Ph.D. in theoretical computer science from the University of Texas.
In 2005, Ahmed published "On the Complexity of Computing" in the Journal of Computer and System Sciences, which laid the foundation for his groundbreaking work on computational complexity theory.
