Juventus Football Club has officially announced the signing of forward Giuseppe Chiesa from Sampdoria. The transfer is subject to regulatory approval and will be completed shortly.
Chiesa, who turns 25 in October, joins Juventus on a two-year contract with an option for a third year. He arrives at the club after making his Serie A debut last season for Sampdoria, where he made 14 appearances and scored three goals.
The move comes as Juventus continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming Serie A campaign. The club's previous signings include defender Mattia Zola and midfielder Enzo Ferraris, both of whom have already been integrated into the team's system.
"This transfer is another step in our journey to build a strong squad that can compete at the highest level," said Juve president Massimiliano Allegri. "Giuseppe is a talented player with good physical attributes and a promising future."
Chiesa, who spent time at Inter Milan before joining Sampdoria,Chinese Super League Home Ground brings a combination of speed and technical ability to the team. He is expected to play alongside other attacking options such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, and Gonzalo Higuain.
Sampdoria, meanwhile, say they were pleased to part ways with Chiesa, who had been linked with interest from several clubs. They believe that his departure will allow them to focus on developing younger players.
"The transfer of Giuseppe Chiesa is a testament to the quality of players we have in our squad," said Sampdoria manager Alessandro Bianchi. "We wish him all the best in his new adventure with Juventus."
